MiniMed 780G System

The Medtronic MiniMed 780G insulin pump system comes with both “Manual” and “SmartGuard” mode. With built-in safety features designed to protect the user from hypo- and hyperglycemic events. The system continuously monitors blood glucose levels and automatically adjusts insulin delivery to maintain the user’s target range. If blood glucose levels move out of range, such as above 180 mg/dL or below 70 mg/dL, the pump will adjust insulin delivery to bring it back within range. Additionally, a high/low glucose alarm notifies users of critical levels. To use the pump in Manual mode, SmartGuard needs to be turned off.

The 780G is approved for people with type 1 diabetes age 7 and above and adults ages 18+ living with insulin-requiring type 2 diabetes.

  • Automated insulin delivery: The MiniMed 780G uses SmartGuard™ technology to adjust insulin every five minutes based on Guardian™ four sensor CGM readings, reducing highs and lows with minimal fingersticks
  • Meal detection technology: Automatically detects meals via glucose trends and delivers correction doses, compensating for miscalculated carbs or missed boluses, enhancing mealtime freedom
  • Extended infusion set: Compatible with the Medtronic Extended™ infusion set, wearable for up to seven days, reducing changes and interruptions compared to standard two-to-three-day sets
  • Smartphone integration: Syncs with iOS/Android apps for real-time glucose monitoring and data sharing with up to five care partners via CareLink™, with Apple® Watch compatibility
  • Proven outcomes: Users achieve 79% time in range with recommended settings, and it’s FDA-approved for ages 7+
