The Dexcom G6 is a real-time CGM that allows users to receive data and alerts on their smart device or dedicated receiver. The built-in hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) safety alarm is always on and alerts users when glucose hits 55 mg/dL. Customizable alerts with several tones tell users when glucose falls below or rises above user-selected limits (high and low alerts), when glucose is rising or falling rapidly (rise and fall alerts), when it continues to be above or below user-selected limits for an extended period of time (repeat alert), and if CGM readings are not being received or displayed on smart device or receiver. A predictive severe hypoglycemia alert (urgent low soon alert) is available to warn users 20 minutes in advance of a potential 55 mg/dL or lower glucose level. No finger-stick confirmation is required when making treatment decisions, and no calibrations are required.

The Dexcom G6 is compatible with the iLet Bionic Pancreas, Omnipod 5, and Tandem insulin pumps.
