The Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus is a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) worn for 14 days on the back of the upper arm that measures glucose every minute. It requires no fingerstick calibration. It communicates continuously with the reader or phone app, but you must scan the sensor to get a reading. Glucose levels are displayed as number values as well as trends. The CGM offers optional real-time alarms for low glucose, high glucose, and signal loss without scanning the sensor.
The sensor is water resistant and can be in three feet of water for up to 30 minutes. It is compatible with Omnipod automated insulin delivery system. The Libre app is compatible with iOS or Android.
