Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injectable prescription medication to lower blood glucose and promote weight loss along with exercise and diet. Through targeting two receptors, the medication works to manage blood glucose through multiple mechanisms, including increasing insulin sensitivity, increasing insulin release, reducing glucagon, and slowing gastric emptying (thus decreasing food intake).
