Trulicity (dulaglutide) is an injectable type 2 diabetes medication that helps release insulin when blood glucose rises at mealtime, helps slow down how quickly food leaves the stomach, and can decrease the amount of blood glucose released from the liver. This class of medication may offer heart and kidney benefits for people with cardiovascular disease. Trulicity is sometimes combined with another oral medication or along with long-acting insulin. It is not prescribed for those with type 1 diabetes.
Trulicity is approved for adults and children age 10 and over with type 2 diabetes.
