The InPen is a reusable rapid-acting smart insulin pen used with Humalog, Novolog, and Fiasp U-100 insulin cartridges. The device pairs with an app via Bluetooth, allowing it to record the time and amount of insulin doses, keep track of active insulin, calculate meal and correction doses based on individualized insulin therapy settings, send missed-dose reminders, and monitor insulin temperature and expiration date.
The device syncs in real-time with the Guardian Connect Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system, with the Dexcom CGM system with a three-hour delay, and with Bluetooth-enabled blood glucometers through Apple Health. The InPen app allows users to share integrated data reports with the health care team or family.
The InPen allows for insulin dosing in half-unit increments and is approved for use in all ages. For children below age 7, it must be used under adult supervision.
