Omnipod 5 is a tubeless, automated insulin delivery (AID) system designed for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It integrates with a CGM to adjust insulin delivery in real time, helping users maintain better glucose management with less manual input. Approved for use by people with type 1 diabetes age 2 and over and adults with type 2 diabetes age 18 and over.
- Tubeless hybrid closed-loop: Omnipod 5 uses SmartAdjust™ technology to automatically adjust insulin every five minutes based on Dexcom G6/G7 or FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus CGM data, requiring manual meal boluses
- Pod design: The waterproof (IP28, up to 25 feet for 60 minutes), wearable Pod (1.53 x 2.05 x 0.57 inches, 0.92 oz) holds up to 200 units of U-100 insulin (NovoLog, Humalog, Admelog) and lasts 72 hours
- SmartBolus calculator: Incorporates CGM values and trends to suggest bolus doses, simplifying meal and correction dosing via the Omnipod 5 app or controller (5.67 x 2.66 x 0.49 inches, 5.82 oz)
- Smartphone control: Fully controllable via compatible smartphones or the provided controller, with data syncing to Insulet’s Glooko for remote monitoring; approved for type 1 (ages 2+) and type 2 (ages 18+)
