Trulicity (dulaglutide)

Trulicity (dulaglutide) is an injectable type 2 diabetes medication in the GLP-1 receptor agonist class of drugs. It helps release insulin when blood glucose rises at mealtime, helps slow down how quickly food leaves the stomach, and can decrease the amount of blood glucose released from the liver. Medications in the GLP-1 receptor agonist class may offer heart and kidney benefits for people with cardiovascular disease. Trulicity is sometimes combined with another oral medication or along with long-acting insulin. It is not prescribed for those with type 1 diabetes. Each medication has its own side effects.
