Welchol (colesevelam HCI)
Welchol (colesevelam HCI) is a type 2 diabetes oral medication in the bile acid sequestrant class of drugs. It lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and A1C levels. Welchol is also available in oral suspension. Because type 2 diabetes medications act in different ways to lower blood glucose levels, doctors will often prescribe multiple drugs.
